It'was known to most students of Indian history that a roldier eon of Charles Dickens had died and was buried in the Military Cemetery in Calcutta. But.hitlieito the gravo'could not'bo found. It has now been discovered, says the Calcutta correspondent of the "Daily Mail.", Tho grave is sitiiatod about tho centre ol the second block to the left of tho main entrance of tho Aliporc Cemetery, only one pathway'coming between it and. the ,boundary wall. The original inscribed stone now lies embedded in a masonry platform, but. it is in n fair slate of preservation. Until a few days ago rank grass and other vegetation practically concealed it from view. The inscription is as follows ' In memory of ■Lieut. WALTER' LANDER DICKENS,' • 'The second son of CHARLES DICKENS, Who died 'At the Officers'.Hospital, Calcutta, On'tho way homo on sick leave, . December ■ !)lst, 18C3, ' As«d 23 yoars.
