AN UNFORTUNATE CHOICE.
Sir, —I liave been waiting .to see whether t!hc promoters of the banqitet to Sir J.; Cf. Ward and Dr. Findlay w;ould not alter the date of that function, and have refrained from writing, each day, .owing to,a daily expectation that tlio date would be changed. I must now conclude that the promoters are determined upon their programme, and I wish, therefore, to protest,, as a co-religionist of -the Prime .Minister's, against his countenance of' the 'holding of a garden party in his honour, and a banquet to follow, on such a day as Ash Wednesday. It 1 should bo impossible for serious Anglicans or Catholics to attend either fun'ction—l am, etc., ' CITIZEN". ,
