Tlid King then walked to tho stretcher on which Sergeant Woodhams, ono ,of tho police officer's shot by burglars, at Houndsditcji, had been'brought t6' tho palace. Bending ovor tho stretcher, bis Majesty shook hands with tho sergeant, and inquired as to his progress, at tlio same tinio warmly commonding his valour. • . / ' '
