Tho president, Jlr. J. G. Wilson, occupied, the chair. Oihers present wero M<jssrs. 11. Booth (Feilding), A. Howie (\Vcvcrley),-H. 'A: Nevins- (Teuui)iW..Matheson',(Eketahnna), O. P. Lynch (Paekakarild), and Captain* llowitt (Palmerston).' • ■ The chairman reported that the matter of -the. Stallion -Registration-Bill was. receiving 'the'attention'of Mr. Rc'akes (Chief Veterinarian) had the matter in hapd. ' The matter of tho draft nropof.il, submitted by tho Auckland Executive, in regard to *'the formation'of; l a farmers' political' party,"AVas reported as being dealt with by. tho Dominion Advisory Board i also tho Canterbury Executive's proposals to tako moro 'activo stens in politics. ' Tho following resolution was .passed in conncotion with the-matter-'-of. the immigration of b'oy's for' farm work; "That this executive, having seen that tho Hon. Mr. Millar has stated that no furtlior boys should be brought out by way of assisted immigrants to work in the country for-twelve months, considers that Mr. Jlillnr can have no .conception of, tho demand in the country for such lads ashave latterly been brought out by Mr. Sedgwick. These have all been placed :in Satisfactory -employment.jUTurther, that January, which is the month in which they would land, is too late for the boys to. be of most use, and sOijit September is a much better month" Wr tho lads to arrive here, as it is-in tho soring of tho yeivr when the' work of tho farm is commencing. The 'executive would, therefore, urge Mr. Millar to continue tho excellent scheme «o as to enable tliQ boys to land and settle in the in September in each year, in«(end of waiting for the full twelve months." . * . At the first day of Messrs., Freeman R. Jackson and Company's annual ram fair there wJvCClirgo of buyers, and entries wero quits up to the usual standard. In Lincoln studs, W. H. Wybourho a'veraged 'JBl5- Us.-pd;,- tho highest price being 30 guineas. {11 flock rams Romneys were in good demand, W. Rayncr's averaging iX7 15s. 3d. There was only a modorati' demaiid fir Lincoln and Leicester flock rams. Southdowns sold Well. The sale will- bo continued {tomorrow.' :' •.'
