. niS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. In spito of counter attractions tho usual record change of programme for this week at His Majesty's Theatre in- Courtouay • l'laco drew a very good house. Tho new ' set, taken all round, are of excellent , ijuality, 'and tho management deserve • credit for tho way hi which they are screened. Tho music, supplied by an ■ efficient orchestra under tho" leadership of , Mr, Frank Crowther, enhanced tho evening's entertainment. Tho fust picture was one depicting tho various scenes visible 0110 is-travelling in and about Korean ports, quaintness, perhaps, being tlio feature.. A strong dramatic study was that -ei,titled "A Drop of Blood." Tlio story is one in which a villain seeks to nit.ko a heiress his b'rido by cruelly telling her, by means of a forged letter," that her fiance.is dead. Tho rnso almost succeeds, and they are about to be married when tho girl's lover,, who is a young lieutenant on foreign service, unexpectedly reappears, lip is, however, stfcn.by tho guilty one, decoyed to an. upstairs room, and shot, but not fatally. Just as the marriage documents aro about to bo signed .1 drop of blood falls on them from tho ceiling above. Tho plot 19 discovered, and tho would-be, murderer . is brought to bay,and captured. A beautiful scenic film is-one entitled "Rotterdam, as Seen from. Whito House." ' This picture alono is well , worth seeing, for it is ono of thß best of the kind shown in Wellington for somb' time. Ono can seo tho .wholo of the great Dutch, city, and also many of.its streets, its water-front, nnd various other points of interest. Of the many "comics": shown, that entitled "Right in Front of, Father" caused niuch lauphter, and the way in which tho house anticipated the various situations before they actually appeared upon the sheet, was in itself somewhat amusing. Two. young lovers whose fathers are .. great friends find,' much to. their sorrow, that their respective parents will not allow them to marrv. After trying various mpthods, all of which signally fail, the two .young peoplo agree , to' exchango attire, meet when their parents aro away from home, and be" marriedi After a. good deal of manoeuvring; iu ; ivhich the'situations aro' extremely ludicrous, they attain their object. Other pictures of interest were: "Muscles of hn Athlete," "Into tho Jaws of Death," "Artificial Flower-making," and "Caught,by the Camera." The saino programme will be repeated to-night and to-morrow',- A completo change is announced for Monday evening. ,' , KING'S THEATRE. . Tlio contcort programme, which the two contest selections,' "Falstail" (Verdi) lind "L'Africairio" (an arrangement by Mr. W. Short, • of. Meyerbeer's opera) was much " enjoyed ;by tho audienco. Tho band's interpretation -of s"L'Africaine,". despite' the' 'unavoidable absence *of .' two of the Musicians, was especially'fine;.-The other congerted: itcihs wore ■ Southwell's "Vanquisher" ' march; and 'Tobani's fomowhat- hackneyed "Love "'and 'Roses." Mr. "W."Short';'L.R.A.M.V contributed a trufnpet solo, Tosti's "Good-bve,", adding, • as an encore: number,- "Still 'is tho Night." Tlio audience was highly appreciative.
