COURSING.
NEW CLUB FORMED HERE. A further meeting of owners was held at the New Zealander Hotel last night, when the proposed new coursing club was formed. It was decided. that the name of the new club should bo tho Wellinjton Metropolitan Coursing Club, ' and those present formed. themselves into • a general committee to further the. interests of the sport in Wellington. Mr. J. J. O'Donogliuo was elected secretary. ' The secretary was instructed to conimunicato with coursing men re increasing the membership, and was also authorised to roceivo donations to the club's funds. ■ It was decided to ask the Mayor (Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P-.) to tho position of patron, and to ask Mr. W. C. Quinhell to become lion, veterinary. surgcSn. Tho secretary was also instructed to make inquiries as to the price of hares, the grounds available for training, etc. The riuestion of subscription fee was left over fill the next general meeting, which is fixed for Wednesday next.
