(By Telcßranh.— Special OorrcsDondentJ ( Palmerston, February 22.. •At. the Police Court to-day a.man and a woman, who had been living in a tent ~1 on the bank of the Manawatu River, at;, Awapuni, were brought up on a charga . of vagrancy. The woman stated that she •.fas' the daughter, of a duke, . and had IfilOOO a: year pocket-money. A' hardhearted Benchi however,. separated ~tha pair, by sending the woman to Wanganui gaol for a - month, and .the man for a* similar period, to Wellington gaol.
