ARRIVAL OF THE DALMORE.

AN ACCIDENT ON BOARD. ' At 3.30 P.™. yesterday the steamer Dalmoro arrived at Wellington from New York, via Melbourne. Sydney, and Auckland, and berthed at the Jervois Quay Wharf. The vessel, which is owned bv Messrs. J. N. Campbell and Sons, of Glas«w. and is now under dinner to tho American and Australian Steamship Line, left New York on November 19. For the first four days out sho encountered a succession of fierce gales with mountainous seas, and the decks were continually flooded. On the third day out tho conditions wero so bad that the vessel was hove to for several hours, and, during tho height of the storm, huge volumes of water broke on board foro and art, and sometimes reached as high ns the bridge. During the gale the whole, of -the- deck carco (casks of oil, explosives, ok!.) was washed overboard. A few stanchions on tho forward well-deck were bent and twitted, and other slight damage done. While the vessel was hove to, the chief

engineer (Mr. E.. Withers).' who was standing on the deck, was struck down by a huge sea, nad carried'along the'deck.
