It is a source of satisfaction, to tennis ertthusiasts that America has scon fit to attempt to wrest tho cup from Australia. Tlio matches on this occasion will b6 placed in Now Zealand. Tho latpst date upon which challenges can bo mado is the first Monday tin March,' so there is.yet plenty of time for England to also issue a challenge. Judging -frOm the annual report of tho parent association, it did not look at all likely that Great Britain would send a team to Australia, but letters recently received stated that there was a, likelihood of a challengo being issued.' ' ' In the event of. Qrcat Britain; also issuing n challenge, the two'countries will arrange between themselves whoro tho preliminary tie shall be played. In the event of their not being able to agrco they will play either in Australia or Now Zealand, and the winner will play tho challenge, round against Australasia in Now Zealandi

' Tlio • secretary of 'the Now Zealand Lawn Tennis Association (Xlr. As stated tho entries do not close until. March, after which 'dato tho',association will havo to decide where the big matches aro to be played.
