Tho deaths in 1910 (9G39) were, more than tho number registered in 1909 (8959) by 680, and the rato per 1000 rose from 9.22 to 9.71. The number of marriages (excluding (hose contracted between Maoris) solemnised in 1910 is estimated at 8200, giving a rate of 8.26 per 1000 of-the mean population, against 8094 and. 8.33, tho actual number and rate in 1909.
