THAT PATEA STRIKE
■ FURTHER MEETINGS TO-DAY. , -Questioned Jby a 'DoltisipK reporter; last evening in regard" to' what had been, done, at the two" meetings held by the Waterside Workers'' Federation yesterday with reference to the'Pa tea strike, Mr. Jackson', the president, said that it was hoped that a definite line of action wotild haye been.decided upon, but owing to further information coming .to hand it was decided that a further conference was neces!sary. This will take place at 10 o'clock !this morning. At this meeting representatives of tne local officers of the " Australasian Seamen's Union will bo present, and it "is anticipated that a .final understanding as to the methods to be employed by the two bodies in' settling the matter ,under discus-sion' will be come to.
, The secrotary to. the local branched t'uo Australasian Seamen's Union; Mr. W. T. Young, has received a telegram from tho Executivo Councilat Dunedin (riving the Wellington branch full authority to tako whatever steps they deem necessary. Mr. Jackson, president;of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Federation,' expects to leavg,'for Lyttolton and Greymouth i to-night, that is, if the conference to bo held this morning proves satis--factory/. »■
