LITTLE GIEL KILLED AND TWO INJUBED. ■'• ■.■'/' Three children were severely burned, one fatally, during a Christmas party at St. Mary's and.St. Bride's Home for Or-' phans) a Eoman Catholic institution-near Dorking. . Tho children,. who number about a dozen, gave an entertainment on December 26 to which their .friends had been invited. Included in tlte programme was a little play called "The .Nativity." This performance they were about to commence when a loose veil which one of tho girls was wearing came in contact with a naked light and she was quickly enveloped in flames. ,-....■ Hearing her screams the matron and several of the visitors, rushed to her assistance, and in tho excitement two other children, daughters of Jlr. O'Byrne, who lives in the neighbourhood, became involved. • All.the three children were badly burned, and Tins Maire O'Byrne, aged nine, died on tho following morning from shock. Tho condition of her sister, Caitlin Nora O'Byrne, aged eleven, was very serious.
