In cottssquenco ,of not altogether satisfactory roturns from Home, export buyers, ot lambs have again, says the .'rimes," reduced their limits by oneeighth of a penny per lb., the' prices at which they will do business after today being S-ijd. up to 421b., and 4 a d. for weights above 421b. and secondaryquality. There are some apprehensions in well-informed circles that there may be a recurrence of the disastrous conditions which marked the trade in: 1903 a s large accumulations, are being stored in London particularly of Australian meat, where shippers prefer to storo rather than accept current rates, whilo the imports from the Argcntino havo been quite unusually heavy. ' The exports of lambs from tho Dominion during tho last two months havo shown a. very heavy crease compared with ' the corresponding months of last season. In December, 1903, the exports of lamb'totalled-86,479' carcasses, while in January, 1910, the total reached 252,437, a total of 338,960 carcasses for the two months. In December of last year tho shipments numbered 160,711 carcasses, and. last month the number of carcasses • shipped was 257.2G7. or 417,978 for tho two months. It will be seen that for the last month of 'last year arid the'first month of 1911 the exports exceeded those of the corresponding months in the ' export year by no f»wcr. tlwn 119.012 carcasses. Of- '■'? 287,207 lambs shipped last' month 91.437 were from Canterbury.
