■ There were present at the Lower Hutt Borough Council's usual meeting last night: Tho Mayor (Mr. E. P. Bunny) and Councillors Baldwin, Macaskil), Roots, Haybs. Kempthorn, - Fearce, Hawthorn, and Clere.: ' ■ . • At'the council's request, the Wellington Citv, Council forwarded extracts Jrom its by-laws, relative to icc-cream .vonuorfi, which explained that a license had ~to bo issued to each vendor, arid stands allotted; ' Councillor Baldwin moved that a similar by-law bo adopted at the Hutt; —Carried. ■ _ ' • ' ■In reference to -Hie council's refusal to take over Ilurae Street until tho engineer had drawn up a report on tho matter, the trustees of. tho Britannia Estato advised that the street in question, lmd been approved by the council somo time ago, and therefore requested that Hume Street bo taken over nt once..' .Councillor Baldwjji moved:—"That on account of tho Byndi* Cttto not being in a position to hand over tho. streets'for tho v past two years, ft ml, tliey now being in a bad state, of repair, • the.council declines dedication,until repairs are > effected.".
