Included in tie series were four in which.' tramcars were factors.' 1 Fortunately, none' of these was attended with very serious results to the persons.concerned. • Edward Smith",'a seaman, was walking •>. along the tram track in Queen Street, apparently oblivions to the.fact.that a car was rapidly cdming' towards ' him. It was not until the tram was close to the man that the motorman noticed'him. A lad got into difficulties at Te Aro Baths last evening and sank/in deep water.- Another lad, named Tom-Cnllen, a pupil of St. Patrick's College, had just finished his swim when his attention was directed to the spot.
