Thouuh. over two thousand persons aro qualified to have their names added to the borough roll, only twenty have, so far, 'mado tho necesrary application. Apparently there has been a great,deal of misunderstanding, on the point, an impression seeming to prevail that, so long as one's name is on tho Parliamentary roll,- it becomes automatically part and parcel of tho municipal roll also; -Stops have been taken to rcmovo tho misunderstanding, and urge.tho burgesses to enrol at once. - : Most'of the bush . farmers in'this district have burned off tho bush.they felled last year. Splendid clean burns nro generally, reported, tho weather having been most favourable.'.for tho operation, and tho sowing of grass seed on tho cleaned areas is now going actively forward. Tho'Wanga'nui Agricultural Association intends, to do all possible to check the backward movement in stock entries which has been in evidence at the last two shows, and has sot up a strong committee to bo called tho Stock Committee, with power to uso all desirable means'for increasing entries in these classes.
