The batometer fell rapidly, and tho master, fearing a cyclone, put to tea with 2800 tons df loose copper aboard. Tho vessel sailed for twenty-four hours, when the full force of the storm struck her. All hands were called,to shorten sail. While the men were working tho boat convulsively .turn; ed turtle, twenty miles from .Cossack. ,'Oue of tho crew, named Ankco, Katoli,; who was aloft, grasped ."a boat's paddle, and with it swam fifteen.miles to Legendrc, where ho was rescued by a pearler yesterday. Ho had been without food : or drink for threo days, and was very .exhausted and lacerated.- • Katola is a Russian, and unable, to' speak English.
