AT FEILDIXG SHOW. ' (Hj Tclcsrapli.—Special Correspondent.! :', . . v .. '.' FoilUing, February 10. In tho weight-guessing competition at tho Feilding show, the results wero as follow:—Tho correct weight of tho bullock was 03811b; Mr. R. L. Levin, with a guess of- 6381b., won tho first prize, and Mr. J. R. Tong, who placed tho weight at 6371b., tlio second pri*o. ; Tho highest estimate Given for tho weight of tho bullock was 997i1b„ and the lowest 3761b. The total weight of tho two-sheep and ono lamb was 2151b. Mr. AV. H. Jenkins (Peep o' Day) and Mr. W. D. Williamson each guessed 21611b., and divided tho prize-money.

"Tho weather in South Tnranaki has been very variablb (according to tho Hawera "Star"), arid' not altogether pleasant during tho past week. Tho shortness of rain is telling on tho feed, especially in tho open, and tho cold winds, too, have been anything but an agreeable experience. On Sunday night especially stock fclfc it, and a good 'deal of harm was dono to root crops, which wcro already suffering from want of rain. Tlio milk supply, of courso, is on tho wane, but many settlers arc feeding out maize, and as a result the factories aro getting bigger supplies than might bo expected.
