' ' D 3™""' February lof Mr. Malcolm, M.P., addressed a very largo and representative meeting in the Opera House 'to-night on ■ "Imperial Federation,", on lines . similar to speeches delivered in other centres. He answered objections that had been raised, arid referred to the history of other, countries that had federated. ■ The address was excellently received* and frequently applauded. A motion was unanimously carried exnressing appreciation of tho educational valued of the speech, and sympathising with its " ideals. Tho Hon. T. I*. Duncan, M.P!, was one of those who spoke heartily in support. The meeting "closed the first week of Mr. Malcolm's campaign,■'. the interest in which is growing as it proceeds. \ STATE FARM DAMACED. Auckland, February 10. By a bush firo which spread to th» Stato farm at Waerenga damage to th& value of some £2000 has been done in the acacia plantation.
