WIGS AND LAWYERS.
There, were some twenty xoimen. barristers at tho, recent great centenary ilinncr to tho Bar in Paris. They formed but a fraction of the great assembly, but they woro certainly not tho least interesting part of it; "it is related of ouo lady barrister that owing to her golden locks and youthful appearance, a short-sighted judge ordered tlio usher to "remove that child from the Court," If ladies are ever
admitted to tho liar here—where tho ceremonial is so different—it remains to bo seen if they will bo compelled to wear grey wigs. If so, their appearance nftcr a day in Court will be very unattractive. Tho masculine wig is presumed to be for tho purpose of adding dignity to tho appearance of tho counsel, but a barrister's wig, when elevated on oven tho plainest dressing of a lady's hair suggests obvious difficulties. Perhaps beforo the first lady is called to tho Bar, tho quaint custom- of wearing tho wig will bo abolished. ,
Women, by a recent by-law, are prohibited from travelling in th© Moscow tramway cars unless their hatpins have protected points. • Floral Tributes.—Gifts of rare and choice Flowers are always acceptable for friends or] relatives.
