There wero about seventeen shareholders present, and Mr. Lawson (chairman •of the Dunedin. Stock Exchnngo) presided.' Tho chairman road tho resolutions which wcro carried at • meeting of shareholders in Wellington on February 1. Theso wcro supported by Mr. liogrii, who said they could not do better than strengthen tho bands of tho Wellington shareholders. If, they litainod an engineer from outside New Zealand, they would not know who he was, whereas if they treated with New Zealand engineers they would know with whom they were dealing, Tho whole series of resolutions was adopted without alteration.
