ROUGH RUGBY. .. N.Z. UNION TAKES ACTION. IA meeting of the Management Committee of-the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last night. Mr. R.. M. Isaacs presided, and there wero also present Messrs. If. Kelly N. Galbraith, M. J: Crombie, A. Laurenson, F. G. Wallb'urton, and J. D. Avery (secretary). Notification was received from the Appeal Council that the appeal of the Foildmg Club against, the decision of the Monawatu Rugby Union in the Feilding v. Old Boys' match was dismissedi '- The" appeal of the White Star Club (Westport) against suspension by the Buller Rugby Union was considered.." The club'had been suspended for refusing to take part in a championship fixture when directed to do so by the union. It was decided that•the apneal bo dismissed ; and tho fee bo refunded." - . Concerning the Hawke's Bay-Auckland match, played at Auckland last season, it was decided that the Hawke's Bay Union bo informed that, as the fixture was an ordinary challenge match they have- no claim on tho Auckland Union for any portion of tho taking? at tho match. Notification was received from ■ theWollington Rugby.Union that that bodyhad disqualified. W. .Wilson, .of .the 'Athletic Club, for refusing to give evidence at an inquiry. Tho disqualification was endorsed. .- ■• .' ■ "■;
After a discussion in committee in regard to what is generally known as tho "Kanji" Wilson episode, the following resolution was carried and handed to the press for publication :—"That .the Wellington Union bo asked what steps were taken in regard to tho alleged rough play' in the Athletic-Poncho'.' match last .Mason, and to forward any evidence taken." -~. -.--'
