In Banco to-day, Mr. Justice Williams decided that brewers' notices regarding liquor sent into No-Liceuso districts must be forwarded simultaneously, <or practically simultaneously, with tho sale-and delivery of the liquor. The matter wa6 brought beforo the judgo expressly to get a ruling; so as to settle tho practice in South Otago, whero the magistrates havo various views, and Mr. Bartholomew recently convicted 'Whittiughnni, brewer, for a delay o£ two days. The two men will be charged' with keeping liquor for sale. In connection with the recent liquor raid .at a Waihi beach camp, the man was fined .£1 for illegally dealing in liquor. CANTERBURY RUNS. Itegarding tho disposal of tho subdivided Canterbury runs, the Commissioner of Croivn Lands wishes it known that no applications can be received from persons under the age of. 21. Tlie Commissioner has also ascertained that it is not mandatory on the Land Board to exclude all landed applicants from tho ballot in favour of landless applicants. Every application will be considered on its own merits in this matter as well as in other particulars.

Tho hearing of the charge against William Pitcaithly, shipping arid Customs agent, of assaulting a girl in his employ, was concluded in the Supreme Court today. The jury Teturned a verdict of not guilty, and the prisoner was discharged.
