It is surmised that the-building, which 'was completely . destroyed,' caught 'alight , from' a spark '.from' tho front-room' gratoin which a 'firo had been lighted. Tho building was insured ( in ,tlie State-Firo' Oflico for JC47O nnd the contents for ,£IOO in tho same office.' When ' tho fire was tit - its height n five-roomed dwelling next door, owned and occupied by James Dunn .caught alight, ono sjdo of, being destroyed.' This hotiso was insured in tho Queensland Insurance Company for .£IOO aud tho State Firo Oflico for .£275. The risk on tho contents is hold by tho Queensland-. Insurance .Company for tho sum of &)0.. It is stated that ft' shortngo of water existed ■ in. tho mains and that the Fire Brigade's pump had practically all the word to'do. ■ CALL TO COLOMBO STREET. A fire in a cupboard on tho back verandah of a seven-roomed house, owned'and occupied by Mr. Wiii. Jones, Colombo Street, resulted in the Firo Brigade beiug' called ' out at 1 a.m. yesterday.
