_ The Mnnawatu A. and P.' Association is asking Mr.. Lysnar, .Mayor of Gisborne, to address farmers at Palmerston hero on February 16 on'his investigations of tho frozen_meat trade, also at Feilding nest day—Press Association.

The sheep traffic is at present abnormally great on tho railway lines, and tho rolling stock for freight purposes is being taxed to its utmost. All the freezing works aro very actively engaged, and aro likely to bo so for the next month. Last week the Gear Company slaughtered something like 37,000 sheep, and it is estimated that.this average will be continued "during the. next four weeks.

Ono of the finest' "cuts" of fat stock for the season .was that of -2JOO freezers dispatched this week at Carterton from Mr. J. Strang's "Glcnsido" farm for tho Gear Works, at -. :
