Lawrence; and Jerusalem. . - Accounts for .£349 were passed for pay- ... ment. ■ It'was"decided to call for tenders for a Glasgow leaso of: the School Trust site, now under occupancy by the board,'. in accordance with Councillor Mooro'9. resolution. . Three", tenders for the right': to collect the dog. tax for 1911 were ,re v ceived, and Jlr. J. Bustard was appointed' to the position. It was decided to notify: a resident to remove an obstruction from: ; the Johnsonvillo Creek, which is a source of trouble to an adjoining owner.'A deed with the Railway .Department, for tho ■ right to lay.water and drainage pipes, jvas ■ executed by> the board,- and permission granted to a .ratepayer to take up a line of water-pipes connected with' the erst-. v while gas-generating house, subject to the - production of evidence as to' its ownership. A deputation'of ratepayers waited upon the board to voice a complaint of • irregularity in the: manner;'of -'carrying wout tho sanitary service, and prompt investigation was promised: 'It was decided, to approve of the suggestion of tho boiid's solicitor to-take the land required for -a.'catchment-' area under the Publie Works Act;-waiving.all formalities, in 'order - to facilitate' , the "granting-'l'of a •■' land transfer title.-' An application by: Messrs. Dwan Bros, for permission to re- 1 movo-a building to Jchnsonville : was re- . ferred to- the chairman to inspects The plan of .the proposed adjustment of tho town boundaries, prepared by Messrs. Middleton and Smith, was approved, and - will bo submitted to the" Makara County ~ Council for'its agreement. : The thairman reported tho position of the proposal for : a gas service for Johnsoriville as_ unaltered since the last meeting, and it was . decided to form a deputation of members., of the Lighting Committee to' wait; upon the council at its neit meeting in-, the .matter. "
