GREYTOWN. Tho Greytown Borough Council, at its meeting on Monday evening, granted permission to-Mr.-C. Amos to break un Barrett's Line to lay down a pipe, it was resolved to endorso a' land transfer plan showing Maxton's Road, at the end of Udy Street, on Mr. Maxton erecting a fence on tho line of road. Mr. W. A. Hutton was granted a lease of the old Institute at ,£2G per annum. The Chief Health Oflirer notified the council that infections diseases would be dealt with by the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board under tho new Act, but reouested that the council should still act for a short time. A complaint was made about certain horses roaming about on the road n't Ahikouka. The ranger was instructed to see into the matter. Tho Works Committee reported that several roads required slight repairs. Tho I'inanco Committee reported bank account, debit, .£192 19s. fid., with accounts amounting to .£231 Bs. lOd. to pay. A discussion took place as to the duties of firemen when on duty at the Town Hall. The matter was put off till next meo'iug.
