I'ETONE TECHNICAL SCHOOL. A meeting of the managers of tho Petono Technical School took place last night. Present: Messrs. Thomson (chairman), Baldwin, Southgalc, Hayes, M'Kenzie, Duncan, 11. Findlay, J. W. M'Ewan, .louts unit Castle t (secretary). A cheque for .I'i.'i was received from the Gear Company towards the funds of, tho school. Messrs. .1. G. Castle and G. Duncan were appointed representatives. Tho Wellington Woollen Company forwarded a donation towards the funds amounting to .£5. and intimated that Mr. Ttanisden would represent tho company on tho board of managers. Mr. Eustace King, M.A., B.Sc., wrote agreeing to teach the continuation classes of the school oil tho same basis as last year. A sum of <£3 10s. will bo tho contribution from tho Scddon Memorial Model Fund controlled by tho Petone Workshops contributors!, who have appointed Mr. D. M'Kcnzie to act on tho board.
In reference to tho recent appointment by th-o Education Board on tho Technical School Board oi' Managers, tho chairman moved the following motion: "That tho 'members of tho Petono Technical School Board express their surpriso and regret that, through some evident misunderstanding, one of tho board's present representatives, Mr. J. W. M'Ewan, Mayor of Petone, should not. again have a peat as one of the representatives. As one of tho two gentlemen nominated by tho. board at present represents tho railway workshops, this board would respectfully nrgo tho Education Board to tako such steps as will secure a continuance of Mr. H'Ewan's valuable services to! the Petoue Technical School Board."
GOOD TEMPLARS. The usual weekly meeting of the Phoenix Lodge, J.0.G.T., iras held in the W.C.T.U. Hall, Queens Road, : Hutt, last Monday. In tho .absenco of tho C.T., Bro.
