GORDON AND GOTCH'S PICNIC.
The fourth annual picnic of the Wellington staff of Gordon and Gotch Proprietary, Ltd., was held at • the Karori tea gardens on .Saturday. There was a full attendance of employees and a very, successful outing resulted. .Athletic sports were held during the morning' and afterr noon, and there were also games of tennis;. cricket, etc. The following are the results of the' athletic events:— Gordon . and Gotch Handicap, ■ 100 yds. (first prize, silver cup, presented by Mr. W.-E. 'Jackson, to be held by the winner, for 12 months, and to become the absolute property of any employee winning it twice in succession, or three times at intervals).—H.E. Pither, 1; F. J. Daley, 2: A. E. Ballard, 8. Single Ladies' Handicap (first prize, trophy presented by Mr. 1 ; . J. Cos). —Mis 3 Porter, 1; Miss Temperton, 2. • Married Ladies' Eace (Miss C. Temperton's trophy).—Mrs. Jackson, 1; Mrs. Farnall, 2. Wheelbarrow Race (Mr. J. J. Elliott's trophy).—A. M'Gill and F. Mbxham, lj J. M'iNie and J. Davies, 2. . Needle and Thread Eace ("Feilding Star trophies).—J. Daley and Miss Temperton, 1; V. Brown and Mrs. Liggins, 2. Married Men's Eacc (Mr. F. J. Cox'a trophy).—A. M. Farnall, 1; J. Harding, 2. Ladies' Kail-driving Competition • (Mr. C. Pratt's trophy).—Miss W. Butler, 1; Miss J. Butler, 2; Miss Temperton, 3. Boys' Eace.—B. M'Carthy, 1; J. Davies, "Ladies' Consolation Eace (Mr. E. H. Cavcll's trophy).—Miss Christie, 1; Miss Henderson, 2. Tennis Match.—Book Department v. The Office, was won by the Book Department
