j;: —4 EXCITING INCIDENT AT THE WHARF. About 9.25 p.m. on Saturday night the waters in.,the vicinity of the tolls office were tho"'sceno of some excitement, for just prior to the departure of tho Patea Shipping..Company's steamer Mana for Patea named Mrs.. H. Littlo fell into ' r t'ho harbour. It appears that she was -'down at the vessel to see a member of the crew off, 'and whilst leaning over tho edge of the wharf overbalanced herself and fell into the water. Mr.. G. Moore, a seaman on the Mana, taking the situation in; afr a glance, .immediately jumped overboard, and catching hold'' of' Mri.' Eitfl! kept her afloat until assistance was rendered by the Harbour Board officials. In very quick time they had the exhansted woman on the wharf and conveyed to the tolls office, wlioro after a rest she was able to proceed to her. home in Dixon Street in a caK:.' : .. . •
