There was not one of them a slum lad—that is, not one of them was criminally tainted. The Department possessed- a complete record regarding. the previous history of each Jad, giving the employment ho had followed, and the wages he ,had received, and also details regarding his environment Personally tho Minister did not think that more lads should be brought out, until tho experiment had been tested ■for twolvei months.
