"DOMINION" PICNIC.
| ATHLETIC-EVENTS. . The fourth annual wayzgoose "of the combined staffs of The Dominion was held I at the Trentham Racecourse on Saturday. There was an attendance of more than a hundred, including,the wives and families of many-of tho employees: Anuiu h r (hose present were Mr. John Duthie (patron), Mr. W. ,7. Lankshear, Mr.'C. W, Earle (editor of This Dominion), Mr. A. Blanton (manager), Mr.,W. W. Todd (printer). The weather was perfect, Trentham' being almost free from the) high wind which prevailed in town, and the outing was thoroughly enjoyable. Athletic sportl were held" during the morning an.-l aiiunoon, and there were also a number ot events for the children, under tho direction of Mr. Broadbelt, each child being made happy with a present. r , Gramaphone selections were rendered' at" inter-' vals on an instrument kindly lent by Messrs. Chas. Begg and Co., Mr. Cimino being in charge. For the micv.«ss of tl:e wayzgoose, credit is duo to the committee an dthe secretary (Mr. -A.: Maj-s).'
