The weather has been warm and hazy over the North Island nnd northernmost parts of tho South Island, but showery weather now prevails elsewhere. Squally northerly and westerly winds prevailed in Cook end Foveaux Straits during the night. The barometer fell everywhere, but has commenced to rise iu tho southernmost districts. Present indications are for changeable weather, misty and showery conditions extending northwards, and rain may be expected soon in most parts of tho country, strong southerly winds nnd a rising barometer probable in the south, and westerly winds., and unsteady barometer iu tho north.
