Ihe Paris Bar has celebrated its centenary. Kcprcsentatives of tho Bars of other countries were invited to a grand banquet,'at which there were 1100 diners. Among them were a dozen ladies who nave been admitted lo the Paris Bar. Mdllc. Cbauvin, Doctor of Law, the first French woman barrister, who lias now practised for eleven years, was present; also Mine. Bcnezeach, whoso girlish appearance is such that on one occasion a short-sighted iudge, perceiving her at the counsel's table, called out, "Usher, remove that child to the back of the Court." At the banquet, they wore not counsel's gowns but ordinary feminine evening dress.
