It is interesting-to note in connection with the Swimming Championship ,to bo held in. the Te Aro Baths- to-day that one of the Canterbury representative.*, an ex-champion, lias been swimming for over 20 years, and that almost all his competitors were in the cradle wliilo ho was winning his first event. A sport which fosters such trojans, as swimming undoubtedly does, deserves support. His Excellency the Governor has accorded his patronage to tllo'gathering, but wil-l'bo' unablo to be present at the first day's meeting.
Mrs. Ernest Queree, teacher of singing, will resume teaching on Thursday, February 9. Mrs. Queree may bo consulted by intending pupils on and after Monday, February 6.
