At a meeting of tho Labour Council, strong statements wore made in proof of tho existence of rabbit and meat rings. It was alleged that a rabbit ring, composed of only a few largo exporters, was actually in operation. As to the meat combine, it was stated that it was not Americans who wero to bo feared so much as some of the large local produce, firms, who had tho distribution in their hands. Many master butchers were only dtlmniies.
Tho council empowered the executive to talco the necessary steps to check tho alleged evils.
