"■ i Two teacupfuls of flour, one teaeupful iof. suet, one teaeupful of sugar, one teacupful of milk, one egg, half a teaspoonfur of carbonate of soda, one teaspoouful of cream of tartar,- half a teaeupful of. dates, grated rind of. half a lemon. Shred the suet and chop it finely, sStone tho dates and cut them up. Dissolve tho soda in' a little warm milk. .'Mix all the dry ingredients well, add tlie ■egg, beaten, and tho milk and scda. iPour into a well-greased basin, and; Isteam for 2J hour's.
