CANTERBURY PASTORAL RUNS
LAND' BOARD DECISIONS. (By TeJeerapu-PreEs Association.) Christchurch, February 2. The Land Board to-day decided in connection with the Canterbury pastoral runs to-be disposed of. about the end. of tho month that applicants may apply for any number of runs; that runs not disposed of at tho first ballot he open for application on tho day following at n late ballot; that unless some.'extraordinary reason is shown the board will refuse transfers till tho expiration of two years from the commencement of a lease; that applicants must discloso the fact that thev possess in'cash seven times the amount of tho annual rental of the run applied for. A lengthy dicussion ensued on the question whether applicant's should be restricted to'landless persons owl tho commissioner intends obtaining a decision on tho question- whether rigid preference is to be given to..landless applicants.
