Mr. F. E. Frcmantle, County Medical Officer of Health for Herts, advocated, at the Conference of HcalHi-Proniotins Institutions, the creation of.a fund of ..£IOO,OOO to build or adopt some adequate building , for tho purpose of an Imperial Institute of Public Health. Mrs. Gns'lav Eckhard, of the School for Mothers, protested against spending such a sum "on bricks and mortar in London." Lin-yuk-lin, the new Chinese Minister, who has arrived in London, speaks English fluently. Ho formed one of the Chinese mission at Queen Victoria's Jubilco. He is accompanied by his two daughters, who are doing to an English school. .
