'Minister (Mr. Fisher), referring to his proposed action at the Imperial Confere'iico in relation to preferential trade, , declared that he. would not ask the people of Australia to do anything which would make tho* lot of the toiling masses of Great Britain harder, or increase : the price. at which they cm get food for' their children. Tho good sense of the people of Australia would, said the Premier, prevent them from desiring that the food of Britain should be increased in price, even for the sake of preferential trade.
