KNOCKED DOWN BY A MOTORCAR.
AN ACTION FOE DAMAGES,
By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyrinht. / London, January 31. ■Mr. Dan O'Connor, of New South Wales, .sued Mr. Kilby, a merchant, for knocking him down with a motor-car. Counsel stafe'd that plaintiff was a Legislative Councillor, which was equivalent, to a member of the. House of Lords. Mr. O'Connor, in his evidence, stated that he left Australia at tho wish of the Government to encourage emigration, and generally to boom Australia.' . After the accident, when tho crowd proposed to tako him to'the hospital, plaintiff exclaimed, ■ "For God's sake take me to the church; I think I am going t» die." Prior to the accident, plaintiff said, he I was a strong fe'MGMHH The action was settled privately, but the terms have not been disclosed.
