"HAD BEEN GAMBLING." (By Telegraph.—Press-Association.} *. Pahiaiun, January 31. Storey's suicidc was deliberato and premeditated. He posted a letter to the polico yesterday morning explaining .where his body would be found, the method of death, etc. The. letter was quite connected and rational. He blamed gambling for his troubles, but it is well known here that he had been drinking/ heavily.and consistently for a long whilo. Ho was met on tho bank of the river 011 Sunday afternoon, and conversed with townsmen as to the depth of the waterhole in which his body was afterwards found. An inquest was held this afternoon, and a verdict was returned that death was caused by a bullet wound, self-indicted. The polico produced a letter written .to them by deceased, stating that ho had been gambling heavily, and had lost every shilling. The letter also indicated where tho body would be found.
