(By Telceraph.—Press Association.! Blenheim, January . 28. Referring to the telegram from Nelson on Wednesday concerning Junior National Scholarships,' the Marlborough Education Ofiice supplies the following particulars: —Of 26 focal candidates 1G were successful, which is a higher percentage _ than the average for Ihc Dominion. Nelson had 27 who qualified, instead of 41, if were in ratio to the number of pupils'on the rolls of the districts. Three of the 27 in Nelson wcro lower than the lowest in Marlborough. Nelson has four secondary institutions supplying candidates for this examination; Marlborough none. All who qualified in Marlborough did so for the first time.
Aucklandi January 30. Susannah Atkinson, aged 27 years, cut her throat with a razor at hor homo, Symond9 Street. Tho injuries are serious, but- 1 not fatal.
Auckland, January 28. Sir Joseph Ward arrived here this morning. Interviewed, ho stated that low powor wireless stations had been complotod at Wellington, and at other places already mentioned they would l>o complotcd'within two or three months. There would ba a high power station at Doubtless Hay wtthtu eight months, and there would bo no need of a lower station at Auckland, as it was in touch with Doubtless Bay by telegraph connection.
