(From Oar Special Correspondent.) Messrs. Motliea and Short, J.Pi's, preside il at the monthly sitting of tha Petone S.JI. Court yesterday. C-ecil Manning, a youth, for trespassing on 'tho railway, was convicted and discharged. Percy L'dney,"for using,'bad language at tho Oddfellows' Hall, did not make an appearance. Three witnesses wsro called, who testified to the hearing of the language complained o'f. A fine of K £S 4s. was imposed, and , defendant was ordered to pay Court costs (155.), and witnesses' expenses (95.). David Mason, pliaded guilty to driving his motor-car on tho wrong side of tho road, thereby causing a. collision. It was-pointed out by the solicitor for the defendant-that his client, as a result of the accident, had been put to an expense of £JO. Defendant was convicted and discharged. Janice Davcy, for causing■objectionab!? matter to be thrown on a public street, was fined ss. and Court costs (75.). Halstoad S. ILirlev, for allowing ,his hors-j to wander, was ordered to pay a fine of, 10s., with Conrt costs (7.), in default ' forty-' eight hours' imprisonment. For • drunkenness, Henry Dur.ford was ' fined 55,. In a civil case, Vile against Kcrslate and Atkinson, judgment" was."given-, for plaintiff for £5, with costs ss.
