OFFICERS GOING TO ENGLAND
FOE MILITARY TRAINING.. In addition to the selection of Captaifl. R. J. S. Seddon, Staff Officer to thrf Adjutant and Quartermaster-General of the rorces, for a coursc of training- in Eugland, it is understood that LieutenantColonel i. \Y. Abbott, D.5.0., at present on tho active unattached list (Auckland' district), Captain M. M. Gardner, com' manding the Dunedin Detachment of th®' Royal New Zealand Artillery, and Captain R. 0. Chesney, at present on tho Instructional Staff at Tauherinikaa camp, have also been selected for a course in England. Three of these officers— Captains Seddon, Gardner, and Chesneyw are members of the Permanent Rt-nff . while Lieutenant-Colonel Abbott is ai Territorial officer, with a distinpiishe?? record of service in .South Africa, "where he commanded the Ninth New Zealand: Regiment. Ho was mentioned in di»* patches, and awarded a D.S.O.
