Tay ; - FEDERAL REFERENDUM. By TelCEraph-Piess Association-Copyright Sydney, January 28. The Labour Conference has approved of the Federal referendum proposals. The speakers against altering the State powers included Messrs. M'Gowen (Premier of. Now South Wales), Holman (Attorney-General), and Nielsen (Minister for Lands). Tho referenda proposals were discussed in camera. (Rec. January 30, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, January 29. The Labour Conference negatived motions providing for compulsory voting, voting machines, and reduction in the numbers of members.
