During the sitting of the' Royal Commission which is investigating Chinese immigration, Mr. Joseph Martin, ■ a member of the British House of Commons, charged tho Liberal Party throughout British Columbia with whole'salo corruption. Ho alleged that tho Prime Minister (Sir Wilfrid Lauricr) was primarily blameworthy ' for tho "graft" which permeated every department of tho Federal Government.' '-
' Conflicting evidence was given as to whether tho Hon. William Temploman, Dominion Minister for Inland Rcvcnuo and Mines, stated confidentially that ho desired the Royal Commission on Immigration to be stopped. Mr. Templeimin is to be summoned to give evidence on tho point. •
Tho investigation revealed that Chinesewere buying in China for .£llO a complete equipment for entering Canada. This consisted of the stoamev ticket, a forged entry certificate, written in Chinese, and. bogus drafts and cheques to make up the amount of riches required by the immigration laws.
