A NOVELIST SHOT.
ASSAILANT KILLS HIMSELF. By Teleenwh—Frees ia6odation-CoDrrlsbt. (Rec. January 25, 0.55 a.m.) New York, January 24. Mr. David Graham Phillips,, a wellknown editor and novelist, has been shot in New York. His assailant, a Harvard man named' Fitzhugh Goldsborough, afterwards shot himself with a revolver, ; dying instantly. He is' believed to have been insane. Mr. Phillips will probably .recover'. The motive for tho attack is unknown.
