The late Mr.-Wilson was the second son of the late Sir John. Gracroft Wilson, C.8.,' and was, for some years, connected with the Bank of New Zealand here, then under the .management of the late Mr.' J. L. Coster. Subsequently he entered' into partnership with Mr. Henry; Sawtell, under style of "Wilson, Sawtell' and Co., and the firm traded for £odjb time as general merchants. For a good many yeaTS Mr. Wilson, held the post of_ registrar of Canterbury College, till failing health compelled him to, resign-. He then retired into private life.
