Peter Bowling was to have given an address ,in Palmerston ■ last nighty but, at the'elev'entli hour, - other arrangements were: made, and the promised speech did not take place. : The . regular meeting of. the local Lodge of Oddfellows was held last night, when there was a good attendance, and Bro. W. S.' Woodi'oofe, N.G., presided. The balance-sheet' was adopted. One new member was initiated.- During.the evening, Bro. F. Nevill, P.G.,. was presented with a framed emblem of the order.
